Ennie! OK, I did my fair share to boost the economy while I was in Pittsburgh...well, OK, I could have actually bought alot more but I'm not a total impulse buyer. Probably a good thing too! The museum visit was good tho it left my ears ringing b/c of the SCREAMING children there on school field trips. I was annoyed with them and even more annoyed with the teachers who were doing as little as possible to correct them. I'm not a parent, but did things change and I wasn't informed?? Or is it now the mode in larger cities to allow children to run and scream in place like museums and stores, etc.??

I spent part of my long weekend dealing with a 36 hour flu bug or stomache virus. :-( Still, I did go to the yummy Mother's Day buffet we always go to, with my roomie and her folks. Ennie, I'm just not thrilled with what I've heard about the show. Another hospital show centered around 5 female doctors. Unless Oded is the lead male I have a hunch this is going to be one of those things where we'll be lucky to see him. And the chicks mentioned don't thrill me as far as a love interest for him. AND let's face it, Frank Donovan was a good role b/c Oded really got to "stretch" and do alot of things. I think I'd prefer an action show with him as the central character. Guess it's just me, and as for feature films--film takes too long.

Oh Debs, is it just the series your having trouble getting excited about or are you in a general funk? Sometimes when I've been in a particularly blue mood for a while it takes a lot to get me going again. Are you having trouble with the plot for the show? Ennie, you're an inspiration to us all! Yeah, you'll have weeks where you don't lose, espeically if you have added any sort of weight training. Like you, I also notice if I exercise really hard, I don't lose. Need to do some research on that, I have a hunch it has something to do with lactic acid build-up, etc. B/c then if I take a day or even 2 off (which I hate to do) I'll suddenly drop 2 or 3 pounds.

You're right about today being weight-in day. I stayed the same this week. I think it's because I've started exercising really hard and I've put some muscle on. Let's hope it's temporary. However, I will say that I've noticed a difference in my waistline. It's seems that I actually have one. LOL And you're also right about hubby. He keeps saying he needs to go on a diet with me. Which he does for about 3 days and then he quits. And you know what? That's his problem. I've spent a lifetime taking care of him and now he's on his own about this. He is after all a grown man.

Good morning ladies. I'm here for a little while and then it's off to my many tasks for the day. Here's some food for thought. Is it just me or did some of those razor pics look like he was a little uncomfortable to be sitting with those women like that? And I sure would like to see him grow his hair out long again for his new series.
Hey Dax. Nope I haven't seen Greg the Bunny. But I sure liked Seth Green in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I guess I'll have to try and catch it.

Andrea (our bad little wolfie!) is away at school for 6 weeks. She's been there for 2 already, I think, but she finally returns home on May 18th. She won't have access to e-mail there but would love it if anyone wants to drop her a note at the school. If you would like the snail mail address please send me an e-mail and I'll give it to you.
She's at a training center for the blind trying to learn as much as she can before she loses her vision completely. Hopefully that won't happen, but just in case she does, she will be prepared. She mentioned something about a cooking class and an apple-free apple pie. Don't know about that but it sounds interesting!!

Lisa, I guess I'll wait until TR comes to Starz or HBO or whatever and then time it so I can just watch his part. And FYI 'Buddy System" was just on a week or so ago, weird, haven't seen that movie in ages and then it's on!

Lisa-I know that movie, it's called "The Buddy System" and it stars Susan Sarandon (Marcia Mason was in the "Goodbye Girl") and Richard Dreyfuss. It is pretty cute. I always remembered that line about the gun. Cracked me up. I'm pretty good at knowing movies/pop culture useless info. So if ya have a trivia type question-I will probably know it. Sad but true;)

Thanks for the heads up on Texas Rangers, b/c all along I had a feeling it wasn't worth it! Thing is, I just found out someone I know worked on the soundtrack. Anyway, I wasn't going to bother renting. Isn't it just too bad the producers couldn't have had their way--they had wanted Oded to take the lead role after they saw him in action. Hope everyone is doing well today. As I was reading the talking scale comments, I thought of this movie I watched with my mom a long time ago. I'm not sure of the name, and I think the star was Marcia Mason. Anyway, the male star (whoever he was - Richard Dreyfus maybe?) was an inventor of sorts. He had a talking scale. In one scene he got on and it said "You weigh ??. You've gained ?? pounds. If you're thinking of putting anything in your mouth, try a gun." I gotta get me one of those!
Well, I'm off to check the FLMB. Still can't get into Yahoo groups, not even to read the messages.
Oh, and 'Greg the Bunny' is a new show about a puppet, I think! It stars the guy who played Dr. Evil's son in the Austin Powers movies.

Hi Connie. Mom's doing great. She has a heart rhythm problem but the doctors don't think it's life threatening. Here's hoping they know what they are talking about. And yes Katie knows she's different from everyone else but it doesn't seem to bother her. She's a sweetheart. Oh and on those talking scales well I wouldn't be able to have them around my grandkids for fear of what kind of language they'd pick up. Know what I mean?

Ennie, I need a Mom update? How's she doing? And how are you doing trying to keep up with Mom? I'm so sorry to hear about your granddaughter. It probably bothers everyone else more than it does her, which is a blessing in itself. Kids do learn so fast. It's great that she's learning this while she still has some sight left. I was admiring Andrea for doing the same thing. Very brave girls, these two!

Good luck with the school Andrea and rest that eye. My liitle granddraughter I was telling you about is now learning braile(not sure how it's spelled). Her only good eye is now going. So it's just a matter of time until she can't see anything. But the good news is that she is really picking up on it fast. Which just thrills me since she is learning impaired too. So there are always some good things about every situation if we look for them. We're just lucky to have her.

The Las Vegas trip is in September, right? I dont know if I'll be able to make it. I'm juggling a lot of balls right now, (SHADDUP YOU BAD WOMEN!) and I'm thinking I'm going to be tortured all the way up until that time. I'm hoping everything is ironed out and I can defo say yes.
Aw, Ennie. Dont feel bad about the "mom getting on my nerves" slip. It happens to me all the time and then somebody will say the same thing that your hubby did. I feel bad too but I have to remember that she irritates me in a loving way, lol. You cant be ashamed if you say that sometimes. I feel like if you walk on eggshells and savor every iota of her being there you wont allow yourself to enjoy her, irritation and all. It's like something precious and you spend all your time staring at it. You will never enjoy the "having" of it by trying to savor every moment. Enjoy the "annoy" along with savoring having her around. To me, it's all part of the package of having a mom.

PS Moms doing great. She's feeling good enough to start driving us all crazy again. She's the worlds worst at showing up ununounced at the worst possible times and since she isn't working anymore she does that a lot. I'm not complaining about seeing her but usually it's right in the middle of something and you can't always drop what you are doing to give her your undivided attention. But I know I'm lucky to have her. I was complaining about her to my husband one day and he told me I should be ashamed of myself that at least I still had my mom. I wanted to crawl in a hole because his mom's been gone for a number of years.
