Detox diets operate in the realm of pseudo-science. It isn’t exactly proven that these diets work and that toxins are purged from the body. For all people really know, detox diet recipes do little more than flush a person out and spur weight loss through a restricted diet of generally healthy food items. Be mindful that detox diets are not medical fact. Much of the results generated are done so through hearsay and conjecture. Changing your diet can be a risky proposition, especially given that detox diets are often pretty drastic swings for people. Digestive problems are common with the sudden switch between types of food consumed. Make sure you are aware that bloating, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, headache and irregularity are common side effects of a detox diet due to the body receiving food and calories it is unaccustomed to.
